5-28-21   THOUGHTS

There is an obvious place in God’s heart for those who have no power to care for themselves.  My first thought is THAT’S ALL OF US!
Rom 5:6    For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

In this sense, God’s loving kindness brought the Christ to this world for our SALVATION VICTORY!  But in a different way, scripture is filled with God’s compassion for the under-dog.   One can frequently see God’s intention that the HELPLESS would be the concern of his fellow man.  This is especially emphasized FOR GOD’S PEOPLE! There is both the ACTION of taking care, and a HEART of loving humility required!

1John 3:17  But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
1John 4:12   No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
1John 4:19-20    We love, because He first loved us. 20  If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
1John 5:1    Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the [child] born of Him.

Jas 1:27    Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of [our] God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, [and] to keep oneself unstained by the world.
Ps 68:5   A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation.
Hos 14:3b  For in You the orphan finds mercy."

Job 29:12-15    Because I delivered the poor who cried for help, And the orphan who had no helper. 13  "The blessing of the one ready to perish came upon me, And I made the widow’s heart sing for joy. 14  "I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My justice was like a robe and a turban. 15  "I was eyes to the blind And feet to the lame. 16  "I was a father to the needy, And I investigated the case which I did not know. 17  "I broke the jaws of the wicked And snatched the prey from his teeth.

We need to study the HEART OF SERVICE above!
Matt 5:16    "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

My Prayer:
We praise and thank you O God for your boundless continual blessing of us.  Give us from your loving kindness and compassion.  We would be like you O Lord.  May our love for you and from you drive all selfishness from us.  As you bless us, help us to bless others.  Help us to search for a hurting world around us.  May your name be lifted up in us.  In the name of Jesus       Amen
